About - M EIROVICH- Carpentry & Art
My name is Eyal Meirovich, I'm 46 years old, married and a father of two.
In my studio that located in Kibbutz Yehiam in the Western Galilee in the north of Israel, I work in the field of functional plastic art in creating elementary furniture pieces, which are often influenced by textual musical sources of inspiration by local and international artists and performers. The unique furniture details are works of art that stand on their own as works with a statement and they deal with various topics, such as: environment, politics, society, mind and more.
The works express my world of values, my opinions on differnt issues and my worldview, examine the issues they speak of, from a historical perspective, from a philosophical point of view and from a personal point of view.
My works are mostly made from recycled materials, mainly wood, metal and glass, are often influenced by industrial designs and give new life to components from a wide variety of sources, from an ecological point of view and way of life.
My works will have a great affinity for design influences and the use of materials, accessories and parts that originated from the 1830s (during the Industrial Revolution) to the 1970s and 1980s.
Apart from engaging in artistic creation, I deal with carpentry and the owners of the brands - "Housework" Israeli carpentry and art and the brand "rusty nail" - from a housework - for commercial items made of recycled wood and metal.
